The GI Tech supports the delivery of gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, assisting clinical staff, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role plays a key part in maintaining infection control standards and operational reliability within the endoscopy suite. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology; experience in a healthcare or patient care setting is preferred but not required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a formal training program in endoscopy technology, sterile processing, or a related healthcare field. One year of experience in endoscopy, central sterile processing, or direct patient care. Certification as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS) through the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) or equivalent.
