Clinical Exercise Physiologist - Team Leader
Job Description
Primary Duties:
Assists with staff competencies. Schedules quarterly mock codes. Provides in-services to other hospital departments/personnel as requested. Advances professional knowledge to ensure quality patient care and program excellence. Assists with the development of future programs and new products/services at hospital by collaborating with other centers. Serves as an information resource to provide up to date health education. Develops patient education materials as needed. Develops and maintains program standards for membership orientation, operations and facility management of the Fitness Center. Oversees worksite Wellness and Community Wellness marketing plans. Develops new classes related to specific needs. Conducts public lectures and presentations as requested. Assists with the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students and volunteers. Supervises students, volunteers as requested. Assists with internship program. Communicates results of intern's progress to university and helps to meet specific documentation requirements as requested. Clinically assesses individual responses to treatment plan and properly progresses the individuals to safely obtain established patient / program goals. Communicates and reinforces proper principles of exercise physiology as it relates to progression, overload and specificity. Collaborates with other department staff to support Group Exercise and conducts group classes. Evaluates medical history and current physical status of inpatients, outpatients and fitness center members and assesses their baseline functional capacity and personal health factors to develop an individualized treatment plan and exercise prescription. Implements plan of care by instructing patient /associate in proper techniques and /or use of strength and cardiovascular equipment.Qualifications:
Master's degree in Exercise Physiology with emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation. Clinical exercise physiologist experience in inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation, medical fitness and/or fitness center services required. CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation- includes BLS and NRP from either the American Heart Association of American Red Cross) required within 90 days of hire. ACSM certification as an Exercise Specialist preferred. This position has a hiring range of USD $25.86 - USD $46.12 /Hr.Qualifications:
