Days and Evenings Hours:
Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm as needed
Summary:
Assists with the development of individualized exercise prescriptions. Provide ongoing fitness evaluation of strength, aerobic capacity, and physical work capacity. Monitor patients for arrhythmias and misappropriate responses to activity or exercise. Identify cardiovascular risk factors, lifestyle changes needed, and teach lifestyle maintenance of risk factor reduction.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education or Health and Human Performance required with MS or MA in Exercise Science preferred Validation in BLS required ACLS required with in three months of hire American College of Sports Medicine certificate preferred
EXPERIENCE
Must have experience in cardiovascular patient care
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Exhibits knowledge of current Cardiac Rehabilitation issues Desire and skill to meet the needs of the Cardiac Rehabilitation client Continuous awareness of the need for safety measures in patient care Mental and physical health sufficient to withstand strenuous activity, bending, lifting, and walking Hand and finger dexterity to manipulate facility and exercise equipment Lead placement competency to be validated by the preceptor and manager prior to associate performing task Recognition and treatment of arrhythmia according to ACLS guidelines
WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday-Friday 6a.m. -6p.m with weekend and holiday rotation as needed
