Training for Politics? Examining the link between exercise and political orientation Hello! I am a political science professor at John Jay College at the City University of New York. I am studying the relationship between exercise and political orientation—that is, ideologies, commitments, and engagement with politics and government. While there is ample research in political science about health-related politics and policy, there remains relatively little research about individuals' health practices, like exercise, and how they potentially shape Americans' political orientations. Understanding this relationship will help us develop theories and strategies to confront growing political polarization in the United States. For this study, I am recruiting up to 20 certified personal trainers from diverse backgrounds and locations across the United States for a semi-structured open-ended interview lasting approximately one hour. Your deep knowledge of and time spent engaging in and promoting exercise and physical fitness will offer essential insights and information for this project. To qualify and be considered for this study, you must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the United States, and work as a certified personal trainer. If you are interested, please
