Job Description

Job Description Phoenix Health & WellBeing is seeking an Arizona Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with at least one year of post-master's clinical experience providing psychotherapy to join our team in a full-time therapist role. Two or more years of post-master's experience is preferred. This position is designed for an LMSW who has developed a strong clinical foundation and wants consistent supervision, meaningful private practice experience, and continued growth while working toward independent licensure. We are looking for a therapist who is compassionate, curious, emotionally attuned, and thoughtful in their work. The right person can build strong therapeutic relationships while also asking meaningful questions, respectfully challenging clients, and helping them create lasting change. They should be open to feedback, comfortable seeking support, and excited to deepen their clinical skills or develop an area of specialization. Our Clients We primarily work with women and young adults, including college students and professionals, who are experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, relationship concerns, perfectionism, burnout, grief, and major life transitions. As a practice, we have a strong clinical focus on anxiety, trauma, and OCD treatment. Our therapists are encouraged to develop specialized areas of practice and pursue advanced training in approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, ERP, DBT, and other evidence-informed modalities. We want clients to receive thoughtful, individualized care that goes beyond weekly supportive conversation and helps them understand patterns, develop new skills, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful change. Clinical Supervision and Growth Clinical supervision is provided by our Clinical Director, an LCSW who specializes in trauma and has advanced training and experience in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. This role may be an especially strong fit for an LMSW interested in developing skills in trauma therapy or OCD treatment, although prior experience in these areas is not required. LMSW therapists receive consistent, one-on-one supervision each week to strengthen clinical judgment, case conceptualization, treatment planning, risk assessment, documentation, and overall confidence. Additional supervision may be provided based on clinical needs, including up to twice weekly during the first 90 days. Schedule and Caseload This is a full-time, primarily in-person position requiring four days per week at our Tempe office. One designated virtual workday may be available based on caseload development, client needs, and practice demand.
A potential schedule may include:
Monday:
10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Tuesday:
11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Wednesday:
10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Thursday:
11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Friday:
10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Availability until 7:00 p.m. is required two days per week because our 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. appointments are among the most requested. The exact schedule and virtual day will be discussed during the interview process and finalized based on clinician availability and practice needs. Full-time therapists maintain at least 30 appointment slots per week. A full caseload generally consists of 28 scheduled client appointments weekly, with the option to schedule up to 30 based on clinician preference and client demand. Remaining time is used for supervision, documentation, consultation, meetings, and administrative responsibilities. We Help Build Your Caseload Phoenix Health & WellBeing actively markets our clinicians, manages incoming inquiries, and matches new clients based on clinical fit, specialty, personality, availability, and client preference. With appropriate experience and consistent availability, clinicians can typically build toward a full caseload within approximately 60-90 days, although referral volume and timing may vary and a specific caseload cannot be guaranteed. What You'll Do Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans under LCSW supervision. Provide evidence-informed psychotherapy to adults age 18 and older. Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, inclusive, and affirming care. Build meaningful therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Complete accurate and timely assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation. Assess and respond appropriately to risk and safety concerns and seek consultation when needed. Coordinate care with our psychiatric providers and, with authorization, outside professionals and community resources. Participate in supervision, consultation, team meetings, and therapist-psychiatry collaboration. Maintain consistent availability and actively participate in building and sustaining your caseload. What We're Looking For Required Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program. Current, unrestricted Arizona Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license. At least one year of post-master's psychotherapy experience in outpatient, private practice, or a comparable clinical setting, or at least two years of clinical experience in community mental health. Experience providing psychotherapy to adults with a variety of mental health needs. Strong assessment, treatment-planning, documentation, communication, and care-coordination skills. Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, inclusive, and affirming practice. Openness to feedback, active participation in supervision, and willingness to seek consultation. Professional reliability, accountability, organization, and follow-through. Ability to maintain the required in-person schedule and a sustainable full-time caseload. Ability to complete required background checks, reference checks, credentialing, and onboarding. Preferred At least two years of post-master's psychotherapy experience. Experience carrying an outpatient caseload from assessment through discharge. Training or experience in trauma, EMDR, Brainspotting, ERP/OCD, CBT, DBT, ACT, grief, identity work, or relational work. Experience with college students, young adults, professionals, or people navigating major life transitions. Interest in developing a clinical niche or area of specialization. What You Can Expect Weekly individual supervision, with additional support based on clinical needs. A strong referral base and active caseload-development support. Administrative support with intake, scheduling, billing, credentialing, and practice operations. Direct collaboration with therapists, psychiatric providers, and clinical leadership. Opportunities to deepen your clinical skills and develop areas of specialization. A workplace culture centered on compassion, curiosity, growth, integrity, accountability, and clear communication. How to Apply If this opportunity feels like a good fit, we would love to hear from you. Please carefully review the full job description and submit an updated resume along with thoughtful responses to all required prescreening questions. A cover letter is not required. Applications with incomplete prescreening responses will not be considered.
