The Primary Therapist conducts biopsychosocial assessments, develops treatment plans, facilitates individual, family, and group therapy sessions, and provides clinical support to the program as needed. You will orient new patients to the treatment program and advocate for them throughout their treatment. Success in this role requires effective communication and teamwork in a clinical environment. As a member of the treatment team, the Primary Therapist meets weekly with the team to collaborate on cases.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Establishes positive and trusting relationships with patients. Works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team while employing independent judgment, demonstrating strong initiative, and utilizing clinical decision-making skills. Ensures the provision of professional and compassionate care. Completes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans within the required timeline. Facilitates individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions. Develops and creates group materials as needed. Documents clinical services in the EMR within 24 hours of session completion. Attends weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

A Master's or Doctorate degree from a nationally recognized and accredited graduate school of social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology. Current license in good standing with the Board of Psychology or the Board of Behavioral Services. A minimum of two years of experience in mental health, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment is preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, active listening, emotional intelligence) along with the ability to build relationships to achieve optimal outcomes. A professional demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Understanding of and adherence to HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance, including privacy measures and requirements. You You connect with people and are passionate about assisting them with various recovery approaches. You are warm, respectful, and genuine, exhibiting empathy while maintaining appropriate boundaries. You understand and recognize culturally relevant stages of change and signs of treatment progress. You're self-aware and possess high emotional intelligence. As an effective communicator, ethics and integrity come naturally to you. You have the skills to de-escalate conflicts and situations, preferring to regroup and reapproach rather than simply "being right." You work well in a team environment and believe there is more strength in community than in isolation. You're dependable, have a good sense of humor, and come prepared to get the job done.
