Job Description

Clinical Therapist (Licensed or Associate) San Mateo, CA Full-Time | Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Onsite $85,000 - $95,000/yr Are you passionate about helping individuals on their recovery journey? We're looking for a compassionate and collaborative Clinical Therapist (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or
AMFT, ASW, APCC
) to join our residential behavioral health team. You'll play an important role in providing high-quality, person-centered care for adults experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders! What You'll Do Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based treatment approaches. Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation. Provide crisis intervention and utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when needed. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care. Assist clients with referrals to community resources, including housing, medical care, behavioral health services, and case management. Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agency policies and applicable federal, state, and county regulations. Participate in treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and ongoing training opportunities. Support a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused residential environment. Assist with client orientation and engagement throughout the treatment process. Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold documentation standards.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Clinical Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field. Current California license (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or equivalent) or Registered Associate status (AMFT, ASW, APCC). Experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and trauma-informed care. Strong crisis intervention, de-escalation, communication, and documentation skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire). Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance. Bonus Points if
You Have:
Experience in residential treatment, DMC-ODS programs, behavioral health, substance use treatment, or similar settings. Experience facilitating psychoeducational and process groups.
