Job Description

Klingberg is a private non-profit multi service agency who provides help to thousands of people across Connecticut each year. Our goal is to extend hope and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, sever family problems and mental health issues. We are looking for a Therapist for our Functional Family Therapy Foster Care Program to conduct initial assessments including review of referral information, identify and engage key participants, identify protective and risk factors, and develop analysis of hierarchy and relational assessment within the family. Typical Duties:
Assist in the recruitment of foster and adoptive families. Conduct appropriate home studies and assist with the placement of children in appropriate adoptive and foster care settings. Addresses clinical needs of clients through model adherent FFT FC interventions. Assess strengths/needs of children and families referred for services. Conduct on going model-specific and foster care adherent risk assessments and interventions for every family including tailored safety planning, crisis management, and interventions that target decreasing risk and increasing protective factors. Maintain clear and concise model adherent documentation of sessions and collateral contacts that promote monthly supervisory review; documents all contact, collateral notes, sessions, and treatment plans in Care4 database within 2 business days. Collaborate with foster and adoptive parents as members of the team to protect and nurture children and strengthen families. In collaboration with the team make decisions regarding permanency plans for children based on assessed strengths and needs. Identify and coordinate the activities of multiple service providers. Prepare reports and act as an agent of the agency with the court system. Plan for termination of agency services. Education /
Experience/Other Requirements:
Master s Degree in Social Work or related field required. Clinical Licensure (LMSW/LCP/LMFT) preferred or must be license eligible and working towards licensure. Three years experience in child welfare preferred. Must maintain a valid driver s license. Rotating on-call services. Klingberg Family Centers (and its Affiliates) is an equal opportunity employer.
