This role involves developing and implementing behavioral interventions to support individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral therapy, experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, and a thorough understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA). The Behavior Specialist will play a vital role in conducting assessments, collecting data, and creating tailored treatment plans to improve client outcomes within a supportive and professional environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans based on client needs and diagnostic evaluations. Conduct patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine behavioral health needs. Collect, analyze, and document data related to client progress and behavior changes using medical documentation standards. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in treatment approaches. Provide direct patient care and support during therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Maintain accurate medical records, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment documentation utilizing appropriate medical terminology. Educate families and caregivers on behavioral strategies, intervention techniques, and progress updates. Monitor client progress regularly and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, including HIPAA regulations and ethical standards in behavioral health. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, special education, social work, or related field; advanced certifications in applied behavior analysis (ABA) preferred. Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, data collection methods, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and patient assessment procedures. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals served.
