Description Position Overview Positive Pathways Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. This full-time role provides a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health care in a remote setting, addressing the diverse needs of children and adolescents. The salary range for this position is
USD 80,000 - 105,000
per year, with additional bonuses and a sign-on bonus available. About the Organization Located in Rockford, Illinois, Positive Pathways Counseling Center specializes in mental health services for youth, offering an array of therapeutic approaches designed to promote the emotional and psychological well-being of children and teenagers. Our dedicated team includes child psychiatrists, therapists, and counselors who work collaboratively to provide comprehensive support to our clients and their families. Work Environment This position is entirely remote, capitalizing on telehealth technology to reach our client base. Our telehealth facility is equipped with secure platforms that ensure privacy and confidentiality in treatment delivery. You will enjoy a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient referrals and emergencies. This flexible work setting allows our therapists to manage their time effectively while supporting our diverse clientele. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the needs and concerns of children and adolescents. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to the developmental stages of each young patient and the dynamics of their families. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, to address a spectrum of mental health conditions. Utilize therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate positive treatment outcomes. Deliver family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers, instilling tools for creating nurturing environments that support the growth and healing of their children. Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care, enhancing the overall treatment experience. Offer proactive crisis intervention and support for families during mental health emergencies, guiding them through challenging situations with expertise and compassion. Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and community resources, fostering informed and empowered decision-making. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems to track progress and treatment plans. Actively participate in team meetings, engaging in case consultations and continuing education to stay abreast of the latest research and practices in child and adolescent mental health. Patient Population / Client Focus This role specializes in working with a diverse range of child and adolescent clients facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in navigating the complexities of mental health challenges faced by young people today, helping them to develop resilience and coping skills. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois. Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders along with proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques. Demonstrated experience providing individual and family therapy specifically tailored to youth. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, underpinned by a compassionate and child-centered therapeutic approach. Adept at building rapport and trust with young clients and their families, fostering a safe and welcoming environment. Proficient in EHR systems and technology, facilitating efficient documentation and communication processes. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team setting, contributing positively to a supportive workplace culture. Preferred Experience At least two years of relevant experience in a therapeutic setting, with a focus on treating children and adolescents. Prior experience in a telehealth capacity is highly desirable, showcasing adaptability to remote care practices. Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and techniques is beneficial.
