Work Environment As a remote mental health therapist, you will embrace the flexibility of a telehealth setting, empowering you to reach clients in a comfortable and safe environment. Working during regular business hours—Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM—provides a structured schedule that supports both professional commitments and work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms of mood disorders in clients, including depression and anxiety. Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to promote symptom relief and coping strategies. Provide education on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to clients and their families. Monitor and document client progress throughout therapy, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure effectiveness. Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and enhance treatment outcomes. Keep abreast of the latest research and advancements in mental health, particularly regarding mood disorders, to inform best practices. Maintain accurate and confidential records of client assessments and treatment plans, adhering to legal and ethical standards. Engage in professional development activities, including case consultations and team meetings, to hone clinical skills and best practices. Act as an advocate for clients to reduce stigma associated with mental health issues and enhance overall awareness and understanding of mood disorders. Patient Population / Client Focus This role focuses primarily on clients experiencing mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. You will be working with a diverse clientele, pulling from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of culturally sensitive and effective therapeutic practices. Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas. Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and proven experience collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers. Demonstrated success in achieving positive treatment outcomes for clients with mood disorders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Experience A minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience working with mood disorders in a mental health setting. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual therapy techniques is preferred. Participation in community outreach programs aimed at mental health awareness is a plus.
