Mental Health Adolescent TherapistPart-Time | 1099 Independent Contractor | Flexible Schedule Elevating Generations, LLC Gastonia, NC About Elevating Generations Elevating Generations, LLC is a North Carolina DHHS-licensed Level III Residential Treatment Facility serving male adolescents ages 8-17 with mental health and behavioral health needs. Our program provides a structured, trauma-informed residential environment designed to promote emotional stability, behavioral growth, family engagement, and successful community reintegration. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Mental Health Adolescent Therapist to provide contracted clinical services to youth residing in our facility. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful therapeutic services while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team dedicated to helping adolescents achieve positive treatment outcomes. Position Summary The Mental Health Adolescent Therapist will provide direct clinical services, including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, clinical assessments, crisis intervention, treatment recommendations, and consultation to the treatment team. The therapist will collaborate with the Qualified Professional (QP), Program Director, guardians, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners to support treatment goals and successful discharge planning. Residents are expected to receive a minimum of four (4) hours of therapeutic services each week, including individual, group, and family therapy services as clinically indicated. This position is a Part-Time 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity and is not an employee position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual therapy services in accordance with each resident's Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Facilitate therapeutic group sessions focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, behavioral management, social skills development, trauma recovery, and life skills. Conduct family therapy sessions and family engagement activities to support treatment goals and successful discharge outcomes. Complete clinical assessments, evaluations, treatment recommendations, and progress documentation. Participate in Family Care Team (FCT) meetings and provide clinical recommendations regarding treatment progress, barriers, and discharge planning. Collaborate with the Qualified Professional (QP) regarding treatment planning, service recommendations, and clinical interventions. Provide consultation and guidance to residential staff regarding behavioral health treatment approaches and interventions. Assist with crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed. Review behavioral incidents and treatment barriers and recommend clinically appropriate interventions. Coordinate care with guardians, schools, healthcare providers, managed care organizations, and community service providers. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with North Carolina Medicaid requirements, NC DHHS regulations, and professional licensing standards. Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care services. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, resident rights, confidentiality requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations. Participate in treatment team meetings and maintain regular communication with program leadership regarding resident progress and clinical needs. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must possess an active North Carolina license in one of the following disciplines: Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with approved supervision Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) with approved supervision Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) with approved supervision Licensed Psychologist Licensed Psychological Associate (within the scope permitted by North Carolina regulations) Experience Preferred Experience providing therapy to children and adolescents. Experience working with youth diagnosed with trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, and other behavioral health conditions. Experience in residential treatment, therapeutic foster care, intensive in-home services, outpatient therapy, school-based services, or community mental health programs. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and conducting family therapy sessions. Knowledge of North Carolina Medicaid documentation requirements and Person-Centered Planning. Training or experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, or other evidence-based treatment models. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills. Ability to effectively engage adolescents and families. Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and behavioral health treatment interventions. Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards. Requirements Active North Carolina clinical license in good standing. Professional liability insurance or ability to obtain prior to contract execution. Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation. Successful completion of criminal background screening. Ability to complete required agency orientation and compliance training. Ability to maintain all qualifications and continuing education requirements necessary for licensure. Population Served Male adolescents ages 8-17 diagnosed with emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders requiring a structured 24-hour residential treatment environment. Compensation Compensation is negotiable and will be based on licensure level, experience, availability, and scope of services provided. Contract Classification This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor position and is not eligible for employee benefits. Contractors are responsible for maintaining all applicable licenses, certifications, professional liability coverage, tax obligations, and continuing education requirements.
