Join a growing private practice where you can develop your clinical identity, receive consultation, work with a diverse outpatient population, and potentially grow into a larger role within the practice. GPS gives clinicians the opportunity to build a professional yet intimate practice, without carrying the administrative load of running one. We're seeking a skilled and engaging therapist who is comfortable working with children and adolescents ages 7-17, and who understands that effective treatment with younger clients often requires more than traditional talk therapy. We're especially interested in clinicians with meaningful play therapy training and experience; Registered Play Therapist (RPT/RPT-S) credentials are highly desirable. This is a flexible per diem role with a minimum weekly availability of 6-10 clinical hours. Cases are offered based on client need, clinical fit, and availability. What You'll Do Provide individual psychotherapy to children and adolescents ages 7-17, using developmentally appropriate interventions Incorporate play therapy and other experiential approaches when clinically appropriate Provide family therapy and parent support as indicated Develop individualized treatment plans based on developmental needs and presenting concerns Coordinate care with parents, caregivers, schools, and other providers when clinically appropriate Recognize when a child's needs exceed outpatient scope and consult, refer, or recommend a higher level of care as needed What You'll Need Active, unrestricted NJ clinical license (PhD/PsyD, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) Demonstrated clinical experience working with children and/or adolescents Strong understanding of child and adolescent development Ability to work collaboratively with parents and caregivers while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries Strong clinical judgment, professional boundaries, and cultural responsiveness Experience with diverse and historically underserved or marginalized populations Ability to maintain 6-10 clinical hours per week Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to collaborative, ethical, and client-centered care Preferred Registered Play Therapist (RPT/RPT-S) credential or formal training in play therapy Experience integrating child-centered play therapy, directive play therapy, expressive therapies, or related approaches NY licensure Interest in a long-term relationship with GPS as the practice grows Rate is commensurate with licensure, experience, and specialized training.
