Serene Waters is a permitted surf school through the city of Huntington Beach. Ideal candidate should live in Central/ North OC due to the commute. If its a good fit their may be room to grow with the company and get more groups/ lessons. This as adjunct/ part-time work. Please do not apply if you are looking for this to be a full time job. Work is scheduled around demand which is steady in the warmer months, but slows down around the holidays until late spring time. This is not a full time job. We provide surf lessons (traditional surf instruction), and recreational surf groups for drug and alcohol/ mental health treatment centers. Recreational surf groups are provided for professional healthcare centers. Surf Instructor must have a vehicle and be able to transport boards (with soft racks provided by serene waters), and wetsuits. Must be punctual. Must have strong ocean swimming abilities, outdoor skills, and at least 3-5 years of surfing experience. Must be able to communicate with others, work independently, and as a team member. Must follow company policies and teaching methods. Must be albe to pass a Live Scan and be willing to get CPR/ First Aid Certified if not already (we can pay for your CPR training). Supervised training happens until the instructor demonstrates they can follow through with directions and keep commitments to the lessons booked. This is a part time gig and fluctuates based on incoming calls, and season. If you have CPR/ First Aid certifications that is a plus. Those hired will need to demonstrate basic surf, ocean, and swim skills.
