, occasional evenings and weekends, as determined by program needs. Responsibilities Provide community health education and technical assistance on alcohol, tobacco and other drug related issues. Develop, coordinate, and implement youth substance-use prevention programs through an evidence-based curriculum, educational workshops, youth-led leadership activities, and a youth conference. Serve as a community resource and supports collaborative partners by planning and developing educational and promotional materials (presentations, handouts, flyers, etc.) participating in and facilitating community meetings and events such as task forces, coalitions, and health fairs. Bachelor's degree in public health, counseling, psychology, social work or related field. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge in health education theories related to prevention strategies and activities. CHES preferred. Knowledge of community organizing and prevention program planning, implementation and evaluation. Ability to collaborate with key leaders, community, faith and school-based representatives. Ability to initiate contact and communicate appropriately and effectively with youth and community leaders regarding alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations. Bilingual E nglish/Spanish required.
