Echo Springs mentors young adults in creating habits to support emotional well-being, building practical life skills, pursuits in higher education, vocational training, relationship coaching, and career development. Responsibilities:
Advise, mentor, and coach young adults in group and one-to-one settings. Teach and role-model life skills to build a healthy and balanced life. This could include meal planning, grocery shopping, maintaining a clean living situation, building healthy habits such as exercise and mindfulness, maintaining sobriety, and navigating difficulties in their lives. Assist young adults in managing their schedules, including transportation. Teach and role model setting boundaries and achieving goals. Build strong professional relationships with the young adults and staff. Model clear, positive communication and healthy conflict resolution. Support young adults in their personal journeys of sobriety, mental, emotional, and physical health. Complete daily documentation of interactions and concerns in an online portal and communicate to other staff and managers.
Qualifications:
Degree in psychology/social work/education is valued, but not required. Ability to model healthy living, boundaries, relationships, and self-regulation. Understanding of trauma-informed care, inclusion, equity, and a strength-based approach. Experience working with and respecting diverse people of various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, and abilities. Ability to assess situations for safety and support needs. Ability to step into situations in time of crisis and communicate clearly. Ability to provide room for young adults to make their own choices and experience positive and negative natural consequences and to support them as they navigate the challenges that arise. Ability to identify and pursue personal goals and a commitment to personal growth. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong professional boundaries. Ability to work traditional and non-traditional hours. Valid Drivers License/Insurance. Reliable transportation to/from Coeur d'Alene. Ability to use Google suite (Gmail, meet, chat, calendar, drive). Must be able to complete a criminal background check.
Available shifts:
We have various shifts available during the week and weekend, including day, evening, and overnight shifts. This is a flex position that does not have regularly scheduled shifts. You would be offered shifts as they arise and then can take any that work for you. On overnight shifts, staff are on-call if there is an emergency in the house during the night, but are not required to be awake. We encourage staff to sleep in a staff bedroom from 11pm-7 pm and you will be paid 1/2 rate for those 8 hours you're sleeping!
