Job Description
The Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking a dedicated Wellness Coach to join our team at the Hurley Family Branch in North Attleboro. This role is responsible for motivating and educating members in the Wellness Center while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. Essential Functions Supervise the Wellness Center, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all members. Greet, acknowledge, and build connections with members to enhance their YMCA experience. Educate and inspire members in leading healthy lifestyles through proper exercise techniques and wellness guidance. Provide instruction on the safe and effective use of fitness equipment. Uphold and promote the YMCA's core values: honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. Encourage participation in personal training, group classes, and other wellness programs. Support member retention by fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Respect and accommodate each member's unique fitness goals, needs, and perspectives. Adhere to all YMCA policies and procedures, including safety protocols and the Code of Conduct (e.g., refraining from prescribing nutritional supplements or medications). Advocate for the Reach Out for Youth (ROFY) program by raising awareness, recruiting volunteers, and participating in events. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked Wellness Center, including workout areas, towels, paperwork, and cleaning supplies. Arrive on time and dressed in appropriate staff attire for each shift. Proactively secure coverage when unavailable and assist with shift coverage when possible, promptly communicating changes to the Health & Wellness Director.
