Prevention Educator Safe Voices Domestic Violence and Sex Trafficking Resource Center is seeking an experienced, dynamic and engaging individual to fill the full-time role of Prevention Educator. This position will be based in either our Oxford County or Franklin County office, with time spent engaging with schools and community partners across Oxford and Franklin County. The Prevention Educator is primarily responsible for facilitating school-based prevention programming and youth advocacy, including presentations, classroom-based lessons, educational groups, and one-on-one support for youth in school and community settings. This role also involves conducting trainings, presentations, and public awareness campaigns throughout Oxford and Franklin County, as well as representing the agency at community meetings and events. Additionally, the Prevention Educator will support Safe Voices' efforts to strengthen and expand relationships with schools, community organizations, and other key stakeholders throughout the agency's service area. Primary Duties:
Develop and implement training outlines and presentations related to topics of domestic abuse and violence, stalking, sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Develop and implement school-based curriculums related to topics of domestic abuse and violence, teen dating violence, and healthy relationship building skills. Actively market agency presentations, training opportunities and agency services and respond to incoming requests Market and deliver Safe Voices programming to schools in Oxford and Franklin County Meet one on one with youth in school or community settings to provide information, support, safety planning and referrals Attend relevant community meetings on behalf of Safe Voices Coordinate tabling opportunities and staff the Safe Voices table at community events Plan and carry out awareness campaigns for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, Human Trafficking Awareness month, and other relevant campaigns Develop content for Safe Voices Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter account on an ongoing basis Provide coverage on 24-hr Helpline as scheduled and requested
Qualifications:
Pass State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) check Pass Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) check Pass Department of Motor Vehicle check Hold valid Maine driver's license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel on occasion Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work experience Experience and proficiency in presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva, and Menti Effective facilitation and audience engagement techniques. Experience in crisis and/or advocacy services and an understanding of the unique needs and challenges specific to serving youth audiences
Pay & Benefits:
Annual pay starts at $48,750 and will increase based on experience Health, dental, vision, life, and short & long-term disability insurance are 100% covered at no cost to employees.
