This role serves as a visible and trusted resource for employees, helping create an engaging, safe, and welcoming environment that supports health and well-being. The Senior Fitness Specialist provides hands-on fitness services while also supporting facility operations, program development, member engagement, marketing, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, service-oriented, and comfortable building relationships with employees and client stakeholders. Schedule Monday-Friday Hours are flexible within the fitness center's operating hours of 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. To best support members across different schedules, this position is expected to work a combination of earlier and later shifts each week. Key ResponsibilitiesFitness Center Operations & Programming Support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of fitness center programs, services, and activities. Provide general supervision of the fitness center during operating hours and maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional environment. Conduct fitness assessments, exercise testing, and evaluations, and provide appropriate interpretation and guidance to participants. Lead a variety of group fitness classes based on qualifications and member needs. Support facility cleanliness, organization, and equipment preventative maintenance. Monitor fitness center operations and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and the member experience. Support membership retention efforts and evaluate participation, programs, and classes to identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with the planning and coordination of annual events and initiatives, such as 5Ks, farmers markets, and other health and wellness activities. Follow established policies, procedures, emergency protocols, and safety standards. Member Engagement & Outreach Build positive relationships with fitness center members and serve as a knowledgeable resource for health, fitness, and wellness. Develop and deliver group health and fitness education, promotions, programs, and seminars. Support fitness challenges and incentive programs and their integration with broader workplace wellness initiatives. Actively market and promote fitness center programs, services, classes, and events. Identify creative opportunities to increase fitness center awareness, membership, engagement, and utilization. Develop health and fitness educational content, including articles, communications, promotional materials, and onsite displays. Client & Service Excellence Represent HealthSource Solutions and the fitness center professionally in all interactions with members, client contacts, and partners. Deliver a consistently high level of customer service and create a positive experience for fitness center members. Identify and support quality improvement opportunities for fitness center programs, operations, and services. Maintain consistent communication with the Fitness Center Services team to coordinate planning, share resources, and exchange ideas and best practices. Collaborate effectively with client contacts and other HealthSource Solutions team members to support organizational and site-specific goals. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a health- or fitness-related field, such as Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Health Education, Wellness, or Sports Management. Minimum of one year of experience in a corporate fitness, workplace wellness, fitness center, or related setting. Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse employee population. Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple priorities. Comfortable taking initiative and identifying opportunities to improve programs and the member experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms. Preferred Qualifications Group exercise certification or specialty-format certification, such as cycling, yoga, barre, or Zumba. Fitness or health-related certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization, such as ACSM, ACE, NSCA, or NASM. At least one year of experience teaching group exercise classes. Experience developing or promoting fitness and wellness programs in a workplace environment.
