We are seeking a Health Coach who is genuinely passionate about helping people make the lifestyle changes necessary to prevent disease, support healing, and age well — and who has the knowledge, patience, and interpersonal skill to guide them through that process. This is a substantive clinical support role. You will work in close collaboration with our providers, helping patients implement meaningful change in nutrition, sleep, stress management, movement, and environmental health as a core part of their individualized care plan — not as an add-on. Responsibilities Conduct structured health coaching sessions focused on sustainable lifestyle and behavior change Collaborate with providers to align coaching goals with each patient's individualized treatment plan Help patients understand and act on lab findings, supplement protocols, and clinical recommendations in accessible, actionable terms Track progress, document outcomes, and communicate consistently with the clinical team Support group programming, patient education initiatives, and practice development as the practice grows Qualifications Health or wellness certification from an accredited institution required (NBC-HWC, IIN, Precision Nutrition, ACE Health Coach, or equivalent) Functional medicine training or demonstrated knowledge of integrative, root-cause health principles strongly preferred Experience working with patients managing chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, Lyme disease, hormonal health, gut dysbiosis, or related presentations is a meaningful advantage Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust with patients navigating complex and often emotionally charged health journeys Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working within a clinical team environment Prior experience in a clinical, integrative, or functional medicine setting preferred About Our Practice The Functional Medicine Center of New Jersey mainly serves patients with complex, chronic, and frequently misdiagnosed conditions. Our providers are certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), ILADS, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
