Full Job Description Position Purpose:
This position reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for delivering fentanyl contamination training to school districts and charter schools as identified under Rider 85 of the General Appropriations Act and in accordance with the purposes of Regional Education Service Centers as established in TEC §8.002. The Health Specialist assists with the overall evaluation of health programs and develops strategies for improvement; while supporting a high-performance culture that emphasizes excellence, quality, productivity, and standards.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Provide information, training, education, and consultation services for LEAs that have contracts. Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and administration in the areas of health services. Provide outside referral resources as needed, to the nearest facilities available to that particular LEA. Assess availability of health resources and services to school health programs. Coordinate and conduct workshops/trainings on school health services including: State mandated screening for Vision, Hearing, and Spinal Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) Screening Program, Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistant (UDCA) training for school staff, Medication Administration for non-nurse staff, Student Immunization Records, First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification Training, Stop The Bleed Training Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documentation and adhere to all confidentiality rules. Demonstrate high quality customer services; build rapport/relationships with all stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director and/or the Executive Director. Experience Community Health Experience Five Years of School Nurse Experience, including Systems Leadership experience or other related experience

$54,500.00 - $67,750.00 per year
