Full Job Description Shift:
Typical hours between 4:30 PM and 9:00 PM, occasional daytime hours The Family Health Educator is a committed individual who provides health education and support services to the community in the areas of Family Health, focusing on childbirth and related topics. This position provides a crucial link to the hospital and prepares families for childbirth, their hospital stay, and early postpartum period in our family-centered care environment before they transition home. Education:
Education, training or commensurate experience in childbirth education
Experience:
Experience in instructing patients, students, or families Experience in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and/or postpartum
Certification/License:
Certification as a childbirth educator Relevant courses, licensure, or commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of certification
Other:
Able to incorporate different methods of learning into groups, including the use of all types of audio-visual equipment. Remains current with all learning applications, evaluations, and meetings throughout the year.
