The Instructor will teach 15 credits per semester (Fall/Spring) as part of the base workload either in the classroom, on Blackboard or a combination of both. In addition, the Instructor will assume responsibility for outcomes assessment in one or more courses in the discipline, participate on college committees including Middle States, and contribute in a meaningful way to the college community. This is a tenure-track position.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, prepare and teach all assigned courses while ensuring that course outcomes are met. Provide students with feedback and academic support. Meet all divisional and institutional requirements such as submission of grades and reporting attendance. 2. Develop, in collaboration with Director of Health Information Management, course syllabi, assessments, and rubrics as part of program development and institutional and student outcomes assessment. 3. Develop, in collaboration with Director of Health Information Management, Blackboard course templates for program courses. 4. Assume responsibility for professional growth through membership in appropriate professional organizations. 5. Participate as an active member of the College and HIM/HIT related committees. 6. Participate in professional educational programs by attending workshops, conferences and meetings. 7. Maintain office and advising hours for students. 8. Advise students on course selections and career development opportunities. 9. Promote the college programs in the community. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required:
Master's degree with appropriate credentials. Bachelor's degree with appropriate credentials will be considered based on years of experience. Candidate must possess AHIMA credentials; Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Experience Required:
Minimum of five years of experience in Health Information Management in an acute care, non-acute care or other healthcare facility.
Experience Preferred:
ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4 experience (CCS, CCS-P, or CPC credential) Teaching experience in the discipline of Health Information Technology Teaching experience at the college level. Experience in the use of instructional technologies (Blackboard specifically) Cancer Registry experience (Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential) Active participation in the
AHIMA/NHIMA/NCRA

Other Requirements:
Active participation in college community The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Use of communicative and content-based methodologies in teaching. Experience in curriculum development. Evidence of a strong commitment to teach and remain current in the field of Health information Technology, including both traditional curricula as well as alternate methods of delivery. Evidence of an ability to develop materials and provide high-quality instruction with computers and/or other forms of multimedia and advanced technology. Experience developing and implementing programmatic assessment tools. Demonstrated commitment to community college mission of providing instruction to students of diverse abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds.
