HIM Responsibilities:

Reconcile daily I/P, OBS, and SDS discharges, ensuring a complete chart exists for each encounter. Analyze medical records for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Track and manage physician deficiencies through the EHR deficiency module. Facilitate timely completion of medical records in accordance with state and federal regulations. Scan, index, and maintain documents within the electronic health record (EHR). Maintain, organize, retain, and destroy records in accordance with hospital retention policies. Release of Information (ROI): Process requests for protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies. Verify patient identity and authorization prior to release of information. Coordinate with third-party ROI vendors for billable record requests. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all medical record requests.

Patient Support Functions:

Assist patients and representatives with patient portal access, enrollment, and troubleshooting.

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent One year of relevant experience

Work Schedule:
