Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in providing high-quality patient care within a variety of settings, including senior living facilities, nursing homes, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Your expertise will help ensure residents and patients receive personalized attention while maintaining their dignity and comfort. Duties Assist with daily resident and patient care activities, including personal hygiene, mobility support, and meal assistance Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support ongoing health assessments Administer medications and treatments accurately following physician orders and facility protocols Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or memory care activities Document medical information precisely using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Assist with medical procedures including first aid response, CPR certification maintenance, and basic life support during emergencies Ensure safe manual handling practices when lifting or repositioning residents to prevent injury for both staff and patients Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of care provided in accordance with state healthcare regulations Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to promote optimal resident well-being Follow infection control protocols and uphold safety standards in all caregiving activities Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior or geriatric care best practices Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is advantageous Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes Proven ability to perform medical procedures like medication administration, tube feeding management, catheter care and vital signs monitoring Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks as required in caregiving settings Knowledge of state Board of Nursing requirements for Med Tech certification or licensing where applicable Excellent communication skills for caregiver collaboration and resident interaction in diverse healthcare environments Join us in delivering compassionate care that truly makes a difference!
