ST. CLAIR COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER HEALTH CAREERS PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. The Instructional Technician provides support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS 4,000
hours of recent relevant work experience is required. Experience or certification in EKG is preferred. Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks of a health care provider, including being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist and be able to stand for long periods of time.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor. Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans. Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching and reinforcing technical and academic content. Assist students in the development of their personal management skills. Assist students in the transition to work-based learning. Support instruction at work-based learning sites. Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior and special needs. Assist in providing and documenting student accommodations
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent. Assist with recruiting and promotional activities. Assist with student management activities. Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities. Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students. Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook and Board of Education Policy Manual.
