Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Medical Assistant (L1MA) to provide high-quality patient care within diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisting with medical procedures, patient support, and documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. As an L1MA, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare teams by delivering efficient, respectful, and personalized care to patients across various environments, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care settings. Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments while adhering to safety and hygiene standards. Collect and document vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent patient information accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Maintain proper medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws. Perform basic medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and administering first aid or CPR when necessary. Ensure the safe manual handling of patients and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury. Communicate effectively with patients and team members to promote a respectful and supportive environment. Follow protocols related to dementia care, memory care, hospice support, and other specialized senior or geriatric services. Skills Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior or geriatric patient needs. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict patient confidentiality. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid procedures effectively. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related care needs. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities for caregiver-patient interactions. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling required for resident personal care assistance.
