Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 1 Med Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, with experience in the behavioral health facility setting. As a Level 1 Med Aide, you will provide essential support to residents and patients by assisting with daily activities, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and safety. Responsibilities Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, documenting medication administration in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess residents' health status regularly. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare meals for clients by following a pre made dietician approved menu. Shift cleaning duties. Respond promptly to emergencies by providing first aid or CPR when necessary and following established protocols for hospice or palliative care situations. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care aligned with state healthcare regulations. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing procedures including catheter care and tube feeding. Certification in first aid and CPR from recognized organizations is required; additional certifications such as EHR systems training or HIPAA compliance are advantageous. Familiarity with medical documentation practices using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or similar platforms. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver communication and resident interactions. Demonstrated compassion for working with behavioral health populations is a plus.
