Job Overview:
Join our dedicated team at a leading Primary Care facility in Durham as we seek compassionate and skilled Medical Assistants. Whether you are a certified professional or a recent graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program, we encourage you to apply if you are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Effectively room patients and accurately obtain vital signs to assess patient health.
Patient Education:
Provide patients and their families with relevant health information and education to promote wellness.
Clinical Support:
Perform a variety of clinical tasks under the guidance of medical providers, including assisting with examinations and procedures.
Lab Work:
Conduct lab tests and assist in maintaining laboratory protocols.
Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication with parents, clinical staff, and providers to ensure a smooth and coordinated approach to patient care.
Qualifications:
Certification:
Must hold a current certification as a CMA, CCMA, or RMA. Non-certified candidates will be considered if they have completed a Medical Assisting program and an externship.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program; an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting is preferred.
Immunizations:
MMR:
2 documented doses or proof of immunity
Varicella:
2 documented doses or proof of immunity
Tdap:
Documented TB testing/questionnaire within the last year or upon hire
Flu Vaccine:
Yearly dose; due by November 1 of each year or upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS): Current BLS certification required.
Background Checks:
Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
