Job Overview:

The OB Technician assists the nursing and medical staff in providing safe, high quality, patient-centered care in the Labor & Delivery setting, This role is essential in supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring readiness of equipment and supplies,

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician or OB Technician program OR equivalent experience BLS Certification (American Heart Association) Preferred Prior experience in Labor & Delivery or Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and sterile technique

Scheduling Requirements:

Must be available to work 2 shifts a month- 1 of them being a weekend shift Must work 1 Summer Holiday Must work 1

Winter Holiday Essential Functions:

Assist physicians and nurses during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures Prepare delivery rooms and operating rooms for procedures Perform surgical scrub duties for C-sections Stock and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment Assist with patient transport and positioning Clean, disinfect, and turnover rooms between patients. Support emergency situations such as stat sections, hemorrhage etc Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
