Job Description

The EMT is qualified in basic prehospital emergency care and services by a competency-based educational program of clinical, didactic, and practice. The EMT is licensed to operate an emergency vehicle and provides prehospital basic life support (BLS). The standard of practice of the EMT shall be in accordance with the most current edition of the
Emergency Medical Technician:
National Standard Curriculum", as modified by the NYS DOH and Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council. Responsibilities Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical calls Provide high-quality patient assessment, treatment, and care within the NYS EMT scope of practice Safely operate ambulances and emergency vehicles Transport patients safely and professionally Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation Maintain ambulance readiness, including equipment and supply checks Follow all agency policies, procedures, and safety protocols Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatch, healthcare providers, and other emergency services Assist with station duties and maintain a clean, organized work environment Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, teamwork, and respect while representing Rock Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps Minimum Requirements Current NYS EMT certification Minimum 1 year of 911 systems Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team Join us as an EMT if you're passionate about delivering life-saving care with energy and precision!
