Job Description

Join our team at Rieber Carting LLC as a Garbage Truck Driver specializing in Automated Side Load trucks. You will operate modern, automated garbage collection vehicles to efficiently manage municipal waste. Responsibilities Safely operate automated side load garbage trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation regulations. Load, unload, and transport solid waste materials along designated routes while adhering to safety protocols and hazardous materials regulations. Use mechanical knowledge to perform routine inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs on trucks such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and front-end loaders. Follow proper procedures for load & unload activities, ensuring efficient handling of waste containers and minimizing spillage or accidents. Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, vehicle inspections, and waste collection activities for accountability and reporting purposes. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with residents and clients during collection activities. Demonstrate defensive driving skills to navigate traffic safely while managing heavy lifting tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. Experience Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred. Air brake endorsement required; manual transmission experience is a plus. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, heavy lifting techniques, and hazardous materials regulations is essential. Previous route driving or delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability and punctuality is highly valued. Familiarity with solid waste management practices and outdoor work environments will help ensure success in this role. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle maintenance will support ongoing truck performance.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
