The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, patient safety, and documentation protocols to support the well-being of our diverse patient population, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or hospice care. The Med Tech will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and respectful care delivery. Duties Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and HIPAA regulations Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance and personal hygiene Perform specialized care tasks such as catheter care, tube feeding, and wound management Document all patient interactions and medical procedures thoroughly in medical records Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns as necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with healthcare standards Assist with patient transfers and mobility using proper techniques to prevent injury Support patients with cognitive impairments by engaging in memory care or dementia care activities Follow all safety protocols related to infection control, medication handling, and patient privacy Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings preferred Experience with medical documentation systems such as EMR or EHR (Epic, Cerner) highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing procedures required Experience caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments is a plus Background in hospice or palliative care is advantageous Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is beneficial Previous caregiving experience involving medication administration, vital signs monitoring, catheter care, or tube feeding is preferred Certification as a Med Tech or similar role is required; additional certifications related to senior or home health care are a plus This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients while working within a supportive healthcare environment committed to excellence.
