- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities.
- Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
- Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
- Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
Additional Job Description Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.Experience:
Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.Required Registration/Certification:
Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required , either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. - To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.
- 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet.
