Patient Care Technician-PRN-Nights

Patient Care Tech

  • Telemetry Department Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together
    Work location: Texas Health Kaufman
  • 850 Ed Hall Dr, Kaufman, TX 75142
    Work hours: PRN
  • Nights. Will be covering night-shift, 12 hours per week 7:00pm
  • 7:00am, mostly Fridays and Saturdays.
Telemetry Department highlights:

23 bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit Self-scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Here's What You Need

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required

1 Year of hospital PCT experience is strongly preferred PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire is required Or

EMT

  • Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire is required Or
    Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire is required Or
    Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire is required And
    BCLS
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required And
    CPI
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days is required
    Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position. What You Will Do

Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

Documents accurately and appropriately.

Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate

Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines.
