Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities include, but not limited to: hands-on animal care, veterinary support, and facility maintenance in our Waco facility.

Schedule Time expected to work:

Weekday shifts 4 or 5 days a week for 4 or 5 hour shifts

Responsibilities:

As a medium sized business, few people have a narrowly defined role. Many people wear several hats and do a great job representing the business. Your primary role will be dedicated to the barn crew in Waco including but not limited to: Safely handle horses (and occasionally donkeys), including catching, relocating, and restraining them for exams, treatments, or stall changes Assist veterinarians with exams, surgical procedures, outpatient/ambulatory appointments, and emergencies Administer medications and follow treatment plans as directed Conduct basic equine physical and critical exams; assist with X-ray diagnostics and jogging horses for lameness evaluations Feed, water, and care for hospital patients, ensuring clean stalls and paddocks Set up, clean, and break down diagnostic equipment; maintain organized and stocked workspaces Operate and drive tractors and lawnmowers for facility upkeep (e.g., lawn, flowerbeds, parking lot maintenance) Clean and maintain assigned barn areas, including oversight of hospital appearance and general facility/mechanical repairs Perform data entry, maintain accurate medical records, and track inventory of barn/facility supplies, reporting shortages or issues to the Hospital Coordinator Build positive relationships with clients through excellent customer service and communication
