Sovah Health Martinsville is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to perform administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area. The employee is also required to perform telemetry monitoring.Essential Functions:
Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested. Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary. Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts. Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies. Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed. Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor. Other tasks that may be assigned.Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved EMT Intermediate program preferred. CNA licensure, or CNA eligible.Required Skills:
Ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency. Requires flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and nursing coverage for the patients of Sovah Health Martinsville on all units.Required Certifications/Licenses:

Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.License:
Certified Nursing Aide license by the state of Virginia.Minimum Work Experience:
