Full-time Promote and support population health by providing a variety of clerical, administrative, and program support services. Schedule appointments and register clients. Schedule meetings and maintain calendars for the agency. Attend and take minutes at Board of Health meetings. Maintain, inventory, order, collect, and distribute supplies and/or equipment. Prepare public health documents and reports. Update the health department website and resources guide as needed. Promote and support population health by providing administrative and technical/clerical support to department activities related to developing and implementing community health assessment, strategic planning, program and policy development, and implementation activities. With the Immunization Coordinator, manages vaccine storage and handling. Use the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) to access client immunization records and input vaccines given by the Health Department. Assist with immunization clinics. Daily maintenance of the vaccine temperature logs and proficient use of the digital data loggers. Assist with the WIC program as needed. Complete training assigned through WIC. Prepare and submit annual influenza/ COVID-19 billing to appropriate insurance companies and follow up with individuals or insurance companies as needed. Compose, proofread, and edit agency documents, contracts, and correspondence. Adhere to ethical principles and health department policy in the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of data and information. Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities. Organize and assist in agency programming for special events and programs, including but not limited to the diaper bank, annual skin cancer screening, Back to School Program, and Christmas Giving Tree. Maintain prompt, predictable, and reliable attendance. Maintain the ability to lawfully operate a motor vehicle. Participate in the training and exercises to prepare for and respond to public health threats in accordance with county and departmental emergency response plans as assigned by the health officer. Proficient use of the translation device and program used at the front desk to assist non-English speaking clients. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid assistance billing practices and procedures. Skill in word processing, basic spreadsheet functions and database up-keep. Ability to handle and process confidential information with discretion per Kewaunee County HIPAA policy. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with business representatives, elected officials, department heads, the general public, and other County employees. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to utilize a computer and required software, and to keep accurate reports and records. Ability to work the required hours of the position. High school diploma or equivalent. Prefferred, although not required: Associate Degree in Administrative Professional or Medical Assistant. Two to four years of related work experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Performance of tasks mainly involves inside work where you are protected from weather conditions. Should have the ability to perform work from a sedentary position. Should have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. as may be responsible for moving office supplies or carrying heavy files or boxes of paper.
