Job Description
These positions provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers while promoting public health and ensuring quality patient care at a public health department setting. These positions perform basic Certified Medical Assistant duties under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Perform related work as required such as: collecting laboratory specimens including phlebotomy procedures, administering immunizations and medications as directed by licensed provider, educating patients and families on treatment procedures and disease prevention and wellness, maintaining accurate medical records (HER/EMR), scheduling appointments, updating patient information, handling billing and insurance, answering phones and supporting public health programs such as immunization clinics and other related work as required.
