Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and detail oriented Patient Coordinator to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone looking for a long term position with variety and room to grow. This is a primarily administrative and patient facing role that plays an important part in keeping our office running smoothly and providing an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a wide range of responsibilities, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, coordinating new patients, verifying insurance benefits, managing patient accounts, and assisting patients through the treatment process. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organized, comfortable with technology, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who can become a reliable member of our overall front office and help wherever needed. Qualifications & Skills Friendly, personable, and professional personality Excellent communication and phone skills Strong organizational and attention to detail skills Comfortable multitasking and managing competing priorities Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new technology (Mac preferably) Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently Comfortable interacting with patients and discussing treatment and financial information Willingness to learn responsibilities across both the administrative and clinical sides of the practice Previous dental or orthodontic experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required Teamwork & Practice Support Work closely with doctors and clinical team members to ensure a seamless patient experience Help other team members when needed and be willing to learn different aspects of the practice Take initiative to identify problems and help find solutions Contribute to a positive, organized, and team oriented office environment Key Responsibilities Welcome and check in patients while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment Help maintain smooth patient flow and support efficient day to day office operations Answer incoming phone calls and text messages promptly and respond to patient questions with professionalism and warmth Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments across multiple scheduling platforms Accurately and promptly enter patient information, records, and relevant documentation into patient charts Verify dental insurance benefits and assist with insurance related questions Accurately collect patient payments and follow up on monthly payment declines and outstanding balances Maintain accurate financial and payment records and document all relevant information in patient charts Present treatment and financial information to patients Follow up with prospective patients and families regarding treatment decisions Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
