BHD Outpatient Clinical Manager
Job Description
Job purpose The BHD Clinical Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and administrative team. Responsibilities include developing procedures and workflows in coordination with the BHD Operations Manager. Duties will also include administrative functions such as but not limited to scheduling patient appointments, encounter registration, triage, intake scheduling, Nextgen PM/ EHR, referral inbox, maintain patient records, and health insurance related matter to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Duties and responsibilities Collaborate with the BHD management team to develop clinical workflows consistent with what is required of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, and that various department grant deliverables are met Oversee and manage day-to-day clinical operation Oversee clinical team in the development of their individual work plans, assigned duties, responsibilities and scope of authority Oversee licensed clinicians and other identified clinical staff Function as an individual and/or group supervisor to associate staff as needed Hire, onboard, and train new clinical staff Train existing clinical staff on department policies, procedures, or standards Ensure accuracy and timeliness of client documentation and billing submission Maintain audit ready standards and peer audit Develop, implement, maintain programming that enhance the quality of behavioral health care, achieves a high level of patient and provider satisfaction, and meets budget, financial and clinical performance goals Collaborate interdepartmentally to deliver high quality of service to community Participate in internal and external meetings as needed Keep abreast with all organizational changes and business developments Qualifications LMFT/ LCSW/ licensed Psychologist by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science, plus a minimum of two years post-licensure experience. Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment. Must have practiced psychotherapy or provided direct clinical supervision of qualifying supervisees who perform psychotherapy for at least two (2) years within the five (5) year period immediately prior to commencing supervision Must be 2 years post licensure Knowledge of principles and techniques of social, cultural, and intergenerational dynamics of Asian immigrants and refugees. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record. Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to pass health, fingerprint, and DMV clearance. Experience working in the community health clinic or a behavioral health clinic Leadership, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, multi-task, and time-management Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, subordinates, administrators, and providers Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and with frequent interruptions and distractions Proceed with own initiative using independent judgment and discretion to solve programs. Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies/ procedures, past precedents and common sense Mentor and develop staff Keep insight to details and processes Result-oriented Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Time management skills Great interpersonal and communication skills Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Able to constantly position yourself to maintain files in file cabinets such as reaching with hands and arms, kneeling, crouching, etc. The ability to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information is crucial for this role.
