Duties Coordinate patient referrals across various specialties, ensuring timely communication between providers and patients. Manage incoming test results and laboratory reports, verifying accuracy and promptly notifying healthcare providers for appropriate follow-up. Assist with patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Support clinical staff by performing phlebotomy and medication administration. Maintain comprehensive medical records, including medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Utilize EHR systems efficiently to document patient encounters, update medical histories, and manage appointment scheduling. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within urgent care, or emergency medicine settings. Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) management and medical documentation practices. Knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration protocols, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Familiarity with anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential for accurate record-keeping and communication. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent patient service orientation are necessary to succeed in this fast-paced healthcare setting.
