Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Patient Intake Coordinator and Office Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive. Your expertise in medical administrative support, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) management, and health insurance knowledge will help facilitate efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with confidentiality policies. Duties Greet patients warmly and verify their appointment details while managing check-in procedures efficiently Collect and review patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and consent forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness Schedule appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks, coordinating with clinical staff as needed Assist patients with understanding their health insurance coverage and explain billing procedures related to Medicare and other plans Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by documenting patient interactions, updating care plans, and reviewing medical records for completeness Handle phone communication professionally, providing excellent customer service while addressing patient inquiries or concerns Support medical billing processes by coding procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 codes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage filing systems and perform data entry tasks such as 10-key typing with speed and accuracy to support administrative workflows Requirements Proven experience in medical office administration or clinic support roles with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and understanding of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records management software Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette expertise; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations Ability to review medical documentation thoroughly while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies under HIPAA guidelines Previous experience working in a healthcare setting such as dental clinics or medical offices is preferred Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records, scheduling, and clerical tasks Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management practices, and front desk operations is desirable Join us as a Patient Intake Coordinator where your dedication will directly impact patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. Pay:
