About the Role The Director of Clinical Operations will provide hands-on operational leadership across Segal Trials' clinical research network. This position is responsible for ensuring consistent site performance, efficient study execution, strong enrollment results, regulatory compliance, and scalable operational processes across multiple locations. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced clinical research leader who enjoys being actively involved in site operations, solving problems, developing teams, and building systems that support growth . The Director will work closely with executive leadership, the Medical Director, site leadership, regulatory and compliance teams, patient recruitment, study start-up, finance, and clinical research teams. What You'll Do Clinical Site Operations Oversee day-to-day operational performance across Segal Trials' clinical research sites. Ensure consistency in workflows, staffing models, study execution, and operational standards. Monitor key performance indicators, including enrollment, screening, visit completion, and study timelines. Identify operational gaps and implement strategies to improve site performance. Study Execution & Performance Ensure clinical trials are conducted in accordance with
ICH-GCP, FDA
regulations, study protocols, and internal SOPs. Support site readiness for new study activations. Monitor enrollment milestones, protocol adherence, and overall study progress. Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Enrollment & Recruitment Partner with patient recruitment leadership to drive enrollment performance. Monitor recruitment metrics, including lead flow, screening conversion, and randomization rates. Identify operational barriers affecting enrollment and implement corrective strategies. Quality & Compliance Promote a strong culture of regulatory compliance, quality, and accountability. Ensure sites are prepared for sponsor monitoring visits, audits, and regulatory inspections. Partner with regulatory and quality teams to maintain compliance with SOPs and study requirements. Operational Infrastructure & Process Improvement Develop and implement standardized processes across the research network. Support the development and implementation of operational dashboards and performance reporting. Build scalable systems and workflows that support growth across multiple clinical research sites. People Leadership Provide operational leadership and support to Site Managers and clinical research teams. Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and KPIs. Support staff development, training, and implementation of operational best practices. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture. Site Engagement Maintain a regular presence at Segal Trials locations. Work directly with site leadership and clinical teams to identify and resolve operational challenges. Support sites through study start-up, activation, and enrollment ramp-up. Provide hands-on guidance when sites encounter operational bottlenecks. Network Growth & Expansion Support operational planning for new site launches and network expansion. Help develop the infrastructure and processes needed to support organizational growth. Assist with operational readiness for new therapeutic areas, sponsors, and study types. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare administration, or a related field. 8+ years of clinical research experience , preferably with significant site operations experience. 3-5 years of leadership or management experience in clinical research or healthcare operations. Strong knowledge of
ICH-GCP, FDA
regulations, clinical trial operations, and research site requirements. Experience managing operational performance, KPIs, and process improvement initiatives. Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Experience working in a multi-site clinical research environment preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CNS, psychiatry, behavioral health, or other complex clinical trials . Experience working within a clinical research site network or Site Management Organization (SMO) . Experience supporting site growth, study start-up, and operational expansion. Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes and successfully lead teams through growth and change. Travel Requirements Regular travel between Segal Trials locations throughout South Florida , as well as occasional travel to national sites, sponsor meetings, conferences, and new site expansion activities, is required.
