Performs direct patient care, ensuring personal hygiene and comfort care is delivered to all patients. Assists daily in maintaining orderly, clean and quiet work environment. Observes for and provides age appropriate comfort measures to all patients within the scope of practice. Maintains the confidentiality of patient and departmental information. Consistently uses supplies, materials and equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner. Maintains infection prevention and hand hygiene practices at all times. Obtains vital signs and lab specimens as directed, reporting abnormal findings to the licensed nurse. Coordinates unit duties, including managing sharp containers, pharmaceutical waste containers, blood glucose monitoring machines, and isolation carts. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates good use of the English language in the verbal and written form. [Required] Must demonstrate ability and understanding of the age specific care requirements of the following patient populations, geriatric, and adult patient- such as i.
Education:
High School Grad or Equiv [Required]Work Experience:
Prior nursing aide or PCT experience preferred with knowledge of medical terminology. [Required]Additional Information:
Must have a State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant Certificate, Patient Care Technician Certificate or the equivalent of one year of nursing school education.Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support
- CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]
