Outreach Manager About the Position Akeso Community Health is seeking a motivated, organized, and community-focused Mobile Health Coordinator to support our Outreach Department and help expand access to HIV/STI prevention, testing, and healthcare services throughout the community. This is a hands-on position combining community outreach, mobile health operations, HIV testing, phlebotomy, STI specimen collection, client navigation, referral development, patient acquisition, and social media engagement. The Mobile Health Coordinator will support the Outreach Manager with outreach planning and will coordinate the scheduling and daily operations of outreach events, mobile testing activities, and Akeso Community Health's mobile health unit. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently in the community and collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams, enjoys connecting with diverse populations, and understands that successful outreach means not only educating the community but also helping people successfully connect to healthcare. Key Responsabilities Coordinate the scheduling and daily operations of outreach events, mobile testing activities, and the mobile health unit. Support the Outreach Manager with community outreach planning, event logistics, staffing coordination, supplies, equipment, setup, and breakdown. Safely drive and operate the mobile health unit to community events, partner locations, and testing sites. Maintain the mobile unit in a clean, organized, stocked, safe, and service-ready condition. Conduct rapid HIV testing and provide appropriate pre-test and post-test counseling. Complete required HIV/STI risk assessments and screening in accordance with Akeso Community Health protocols. Perform phlebotomy, including venipuncture and blood collection. Collect STI laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and swab specimens. Operate a centrifuge and prepare specimens appropriately for laboratory processing or transport. Follow applicable testing, laboratory, infection-control, OSHA, CLIA, Department of Health, manufacturer, and Akeso Community Health requirements. Educate clients about HIV/STI prevention, PrEP, PEP, HIV care, primary care, behavioral health, and other available services. Provide PrEP navigation and client follow-up to help individuals successfully connect to and remain engaged in care. Assist clients with appointment scheduling, reminders, rescheduling, transportation coordination, and other barriers to accessing healthcare. Follow established procedures for reactive HIV results and ensure prompt linkage to confirmatory testing and medical care. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, nonprofits, LGBTQ+ organizations, substance use and recovery programs, shelters, colleges, faith-based organizations, businesses, nightlife venues, and other community partners. Conduct regular outreach and partner visits to generate referrals and strengthen Akeso Community Health's community presence. Help convert outreach contacts, testing participants, and community referrals into scheduled and completed patient appointments. Maintain accurate documentation of HIV testing, STI specimen collection, outreach activities, referrals, client follow-up, patient acquisition, and linkage outcomes. Complete required CTLS, outreach, testing, CRM, electronic health record, and other organizational documentation. Assist with outreach-related social media content, including event promotion, posts, stories, reels, photos, videos, and other approved digital content. Participate in community events, health fairs, Pride events, educational programs, and other outreach activities, including some evenings and weekends. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy training and demonstrated competency. Experience performing venipuncture and blood collection. Experience collecting STI specimens, including urine and swab specimens. Experience processing blood specimens, including centrifuging and preparing specimens for laboratory transport. HIV testing and counseling experience.

HIV/AIDS

500 and 501 certifications. Experience in community outreach, HIV/STI prevention, healthcare, health education, patient navigation, or a related field. Experience working in a mobile testing unit, mobile medical unit, or similar mobile healthcare environment. Previous experience driving a mobile medical/testing unit, recreational vehicle, large passenger vehicle, or comparable vehicle. Valid driver's license and ability to meet Akeso Community Health's driving and vehicle-insurance requirements. Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule, including evenings and weekends when needed. Comfortable discussing HIV, STIs, sexual health, PrEP, PEP, substance use, and other sensitive health topics in a professional, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner. Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and time-management skills. Basic experience with electronic health records, CRM systems, spreadsheets, email, and social media. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in public health, social work, healthcare, health education, or a related field is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole is strongly preferred. Performance Expectations This is a results-oriented outreach and patient acquisition position. Success is measured not only by participation in outreach activities but also by measurable healthcare outcomes, including HIV testing, referrals, PrEP engagement, appointments scheduled and completed, linkage to care, patient acquisition, client follow-up, and community partnership development. Current expectations include a minimum of 25 HIV tests per month and 15 new HIV and/or PrEP patients generated through outreach, testing, referrals, and community engagement. Community testing and patient engagement are expected to continue after minimum goals are achieved. Work Environment This position works across clinical, mobile, community, and event-based environments. Duties may involve standing for extended periods, setting up outreach activities, handling clinical and testing supplies, traveling between community locations, driving the mobile health unit, and working outdoors or in nontraditional community settings.
