Job Description

Suncoast Hospice , a member of Empath Health is seeking a Regional Access Director to lead admissions and access operations across our comprehensive care network. This strategic leader is responsible for ensuring timely, compassionate, and seamless access to care while delivering an exceptional patient and family experience. The Regional Access Director will lead a high-performing interdisciplinary team, drive operational excellence, cultivate key healthcare partnerships, and implement best practices that support growth, quality outcomes, and Empath Health's mission of Full Life Care. As part of Empath Health, we help those living with advanced illness find comfort, dignity, and meaning, while supporting their families and caregivers with guidance and care every step of the way. What you'll Do Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary admissions team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, service excellence, and continuous improvement. Ensure timely, seamless access to all Empath Health service lines while championing an exceptional patient and family experience across the care continuum. Drive key performance metrics including admissions conversion rates, customer experience outcomes, access responsiveness, compliance standards, and operational effectiveness. Partner with physicians, hospital systems, business development teams, and community providers to strengthen referral relationships and expand access to care. Develop and implement admissions best practices, policies, workflows, and process improvements that support regulatory compliance and organizational goals. What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Minimum of seven years of nursing experience, preferably within hospice, palliative care, home health, or post-acute healthcare settings. At least three years of progressive leadership experience managing clinical, admissions, access, or care coordination teams. Strong knowledge of hospice operations, healthcare regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance benefits, and patient access best practices. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, build collaborative partnerships, analyze operational data, and drive measurable results in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
