In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative duties. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess previous medical or dental office experience, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent communication skills to foster a welcoming environment for all patients. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software. Athenahealth experience preferred Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate billing processes Collect patient information accurately and update electronic health records Manage multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, handling inquiries and routing calls efficiently Assist with patient intake procedures, including data entry and documentation review for accuracy and completeness Facilitate medical billing and collections by processing payments, submitting claims, and following up on outstanding balances Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely patient follow-up Perform administrative support tasks including data entry, appointment reminders, and updating patient demographics Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive health information Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role with clinic or dental experience preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple phone lines and manage patient interactions professionally Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for data entry and documentation management Previous experience in insurance verification, medical scheduling, or hospital settings is highly desirable Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Ability to work efficiently in a calming manner while maintaining a positive attitude Join our team as a Medical Receptionist/Administrator where your enthusiasm for healthcare support makes a meaningful difference!
