Company Overview Decatur County Hospital (DCH) is an 11-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Leon, Iowa. Employee Referral Bonus Available Summary:
Decatur County Hospital is seeking a Meal Site Coordinator/Cook to prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, cafeteria guests, the Leon Community Meal Site, and other meal programs. This role is responsible for food preparation, meal service, kitchen sanitation, inventory support, and assisting with special events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to excellent customer service and food quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare hot and cold foods using approved menus and recipes. Coordinate meal preparation and timely delivery for the Community Meal Site. Maintain food quality, proper temperatures, and food safety standards. Assist with stocking supplies, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and inventory management. Open and/or close the dietary department as assigned. Support patient tray service, cafeteria operations, and special events. Cross-train and assist in all areas of the Dietary Department as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of healthcare or food service experience strongly preferred. ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year of hire. Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities. Basic Excel experience preferred. Ability to perform medium physical work, including standing, walking, lifting, and food preparation activities throughout the shift. Decatur County Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
