Job Description
Job Summary Purdue University is seeking a collaborative and strategic leader to serve as the Managing Director of the Purdue University Medicine & Health Pathways Program at Purdue University in Indianapolis. This is a unique opportunity to establish the operational foundation and lead a transformational program that prepares undergraduate students for successful careers in medicine and the health professions while helping shape Purdue's growing presence in Indianapolis. This is a rare opportunity to build a program from the ground up that will shape how undergraduate students prepare for careers in medicine and the health professions for years to come. As the inaugural leader of the program, you won't simply manage an existing operation-you'll create the strategy, infrastructure, partnerships, and student experiences that become the foundation of Purdue's future in health professions preparation. The Managing Director of the Purdue University Medicine & Health Pathways Program will provide strategic leadership for an innovative initiative that supports pre-professional STEM students pursuing careers in medicine and other health professions. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Purdue in Indianapolis, the Managing Director will collaborate with colleagues across Purdue and throughout the healthcare community to establish a vibrant infrastructure that prepares Boilermakers to become competitive applicants for professional schools. The program will connect students with undergraduate research opportunities in health and medicine, clinical and patient-facing experiences, physician shadowing, leadership development, and other experiential learning opportunities that strengthen their preparation for professional school. The initial focus will be on students pursuing medicine and closely related health professions. Working at the intersection of higher education, healthcare, and student success, you'll collaborate with university leaders, faculty, healthcare partners, and community organizations to create transformational experiences that prepare students for successful admission to professional schools while advancing Purdue's growing impact in Indianapolis. If you enjoy building innovative programs, developing strategic partnerships, and creating meaningful opportunities that change students' futures, we invite you to help shape what's next. This is a full-time, in-person professional staff leadership position based on Purdue University's Indianapolis campus. The Managing Director will also collaborate regularly with colleagues in West Lafayette to advance university-wide initiatives. For full consideration, please submit both a cover letter and a resume. At Purdue, you'll join a community where unrivaled pride and unlimited potential are more than just words-they're the foundation of how we work, innovate, and make an impact. If you're energized by building programs, developing partnerships, and helping the next generation of healthcare professionals succeed, we encourage you to apply and help shape the future of the Purdue University Medicine & Health Pathways Program.
